The lack of crowd support in hostile territory did little to dampen the spirits of mainly a development outfit that set out to win the tournament.
Despite the taxing turnaround of games with limited playing personnel, the Cats managed to utilise their experience well and maintained consistency throughout their games and secured the Cup final victory with a 15-7 score line against Kiunga One.
"It was a fantastic win and the boys should be proud of their achievements," remarked an elated Team Manager Kelly Kesawe.
An equally jubilant player and captain, Oala Rarua expressed his sentiments after the win:
"We worked hard as a team to remain undefeated throughout the tournament and winning the Cup is a great result, especially for our debutant schoolboys."The one-day tournament was a success even with only four teams registered for the event and credit to all of the Kiunga Organising Committee, especially Oral Michael.

Additionally, the recent arrival of former Pukpuk, Terence Kedea in Kiunga is a bonus for Kiunga Rugby.
Kedea has a wealth of experience in rugby development, having previously worked as rugby development officer with PNGRFU.
The Cats team line-up to the 2014 Kiunga Easter Rugby 7s tournament was led by co-captains John Tomba and Rarua and included Izrael Lingham, Paul Marita, Gabbie Waim, Samisoni Lalaqila, Lincoln Koibua, Shane Haro, David Iveho, Sauto Yokim, Cliff Mek, Tom Nelson and Kelly Kesawe.
The Cats travelled back to Tabubil with the Cup and K500 cash prize money.
