Bilip, Metere Crew feature in Tabubil

The Tabubil Cats Rugby Club hosted a fundraiser on Saturday 17 January showcasing two of Papua New Guinea's newest singing sensations to kick start fundraising activities for the year.

Singers Daniel Bilip and the group, Metere Crew entertained Tabubil residents at the Hotel Cloudlands, with Bilip belting out hit songs such as Larim Mi, Promise, Tulait Tulait, and Meri Manus.  Robby T and his band Metere Crew treated patrons to current hits Mox Ambe, Oh Raramani, and Soie Uraona Aue.

Anthony Aruha, president and coach of Tabubil Cats Rugby Union Club said the fundraiser was the first of four major fundraisers planned for the year as part of the club's fundraising drive in preparation for the planned upcoming rugby tours both in Australia and PNG. Aruha confirmed that the seniors team is scheduled to participate in the upcoming Port Sevens in February while the OTML schoolboys are  registered for the Scot College 7s tournament in Sydney in March. Furthermore, the team anticipates to register for one or two national tours this year despite being no-shows on the local rugby circuit since 2013.
"I would like to personally thank Robert Tonny, Metere Crew and Daniel Bilip for supporting the Tabubil Cats' in its fundraising efforts. It was a very successful night and many patrons gave positive reviews of the gig," said Aruha.

Tabubil Rugby wishes to acknowledge the sponsorship of Ok Tedi Mining Limited (OTML), Downer EDI Mining and Hotel Cloudlands for making this event possible.
