The tournament is named after Mr. Parker, who is a big supporter of Tabubil Rugby and the development of schoolboys rugby in Western Province.

Tournament Director, Kelly Kesawe was particularly impressed with the turnout.

"This tournament is a first and I am please with the turnout.

"I am hoping the tournament will be bigger and better next year.

"I extend my gratitude to local contractor company, Camp Administration Limited for sponsoring the cup, trophy and medals.

"As always, OTML has always supported Tabubil Rugby through MD/CEO Nigel Parker and for that we are grateful.

"I would also like to thank all the team managers and players for showing much enthusiasm and passion for the code  by supporting this tournament," said Kesawe.

The highlight of the tournament was the womens rugby matches. The women had been training for several weeks prior to the tournament to learn the rules of the rugby code.

The Cup was won by Tabubil Team One.

It is anticipated that the tournament will become a part of the annual PNG Independence celebrations in Tabubil.
